Who is Mike “West” Westerfield?
West is a former Christian minister who abandoned Jesus while in Bible college to embrace Islam. He was a Muslim for 12-years, and during this time, he studied the Islamic faith in-depth. After about 7years in Islam, West started to question the Islamic faith and its teachings. He felt a void in his heart that couldn’t be filled. No amount of prayers, good deeds-nothing could give West a peace and love in his heart. West was battling a deep, spiritual warfare in his mind, and felt hopeless, lost, and confused in his doubts.
Through dreams from Jesus, the influence and character of some of West’s Christian friends, reading and listening to Christian authors, West walked out in faith and accepted Jesus back into his heart in January of 2013. West has been blessed ever since!
Since this time, West has been encouraged by many friends, pastors, and others to start a speaking ministry in which he can personally inspire, motivate, and teach others about the truth of Jesus Christ.
West also has 20-years of experience in law enforcement/corrections, and with his Master of Public Administration (MPA)-Government & Policy, has served in a variety of professional capacities. During the last few years in West’s criminal justice career he decided to return to seminary and complete a Master of Arts in Christian Studies-Pastoral Ministry to assist him in his calling to be an evangelist and apologist. West speaks on different topics from a philosophical and apologetic perspective, and spreads the love and peace of Jesus that surpasses all knowledge and wisdom.
West is now retired from law enforcement, but as a Florida Certified Master Level Addictions Professional (MCAP) he works in the counseling profession in which he helps others recover from the devastating effects of drug/alcohol use. West will soon have completed his graduate degree in counseling in which he will pursue becoming a licensed mental health therapist.
West has been happily married to the love of his life since 2015, and has three wonderful children.
